Gov. Togiola says final review and approval of hiring documents
now with HR director
(UTULEI) – Governor Togiola Tulafono has announced that final review and approval of hiring documents for employment with the American Samoa Government (ASG) will no longer be examined by the Office of the Governor.
In a General Memorandum (GM) dated December 22, 2009, Governor Togiola said effective January 1, 2010, hiring documents including but not limited to Human Resources form 35 will no longer be reviewed by the Office of the Governor. The Director of Human Resources will have final review and final approval of all hiring documents.
The GM said: “Nothing in this directive shall change any policies currently in force regarding ASG’s hiring processes. All current policies shall continue until changed by the Office of the Governor or by the Director of Human Resources.”

Effective January 1, 2010, hiring documents including but not limited to Human Resources form 35 will no longer be reviewed by the Office of the Governor. As of the above effective date, the Director of Human Resources will have final review and final approval of all hiring documents.
Nothing in this directive shall change any policies currently in force regarding the American Samoa Government’s hiring processes. All current policies shall continue until changed by the Office of the Governor or by the Director of Human Resources.
