Gov. Togiola appoints Museum Board of Trustees; First Lady, chair

 

(UTULEI) – Governor Togiola Tulafono has announced the appointment of the Museum Board of Trustees.

In a General Memorandum (GM) dated December 22, 2009, Governor Togiola appointed First Lady Mary Ann Taufa’asau Tulafono, Secretary of Samoan Affairs High Chief Tufele Fa’ato’ia Li’amatua, Executive Director of the Amerika Samoa Council on the Arts, Culture and Humanities Le’ala Pili, National Park Service Archaeologist Epifania Suafo’a Taua’i, and Historic Preservation Officer and Territorial Archaeologist David Herdrich.

Governor Togiola has appointed First Lady Mary Ann Tulafono as Chairperson of the Board.

According to the GM: “In accordance with statute, all members shall serve for one year terms; The members appointed herein shall continue to serve until their successors are duly qualified and appointed by the Governor.

“I am very confident in the abilities of these individuals to carry out the statutory duties of the Board. I urge all of you to extend to them you customary courtesy and support,” said Governor Togiola.

Pursuant to Section 17.0405 of the American Samoa Code Annotated, I herewith appoint the following individuals to the Museum Board of Trustees:

Mary Ann Taufa’asau Tulafono  

First Lady of American Samoa

Paramount Chief Tufele Li’amatua  

Secretary of Samoan Affairs

Le’ala Pili 

Amerika Samoa Council on the Arts, Culture and Humanities

Epifania Suafo’a Taua’I 

National Park Service of American Samoa

David Herdrich

American Samoa Historic Preservation Office

First Lady Mary Ann Tulafono shall serve as Chairperson of the Board.

In accordance with statute, all members shall serve for one year terms; The members appointed herein shall continue to serve until their successors are duly qualified and appointed by the Governor.
