Chief of the Obstetrics and Gynecology (OBGYN) Clinic at the LBJ Medical Center, Salausa Dr. John Ah-Ching, along with three of his staff members: Dr. Annie Fuavai, Dr. Bethel Muasau, and Dr. Ianeta Timoteo, were recently recognized as associate members of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
The four local doctors, whose length of service at the LBJ Hospital range from 10-18 years, were presented their certificates in neighboring Samoa during a meeting of the Pacific Society for Reproductive Health.
Dr. Muasau and Dr. Timoteo were invited by the Royal Australian and New Zealand College to become associate members after they successfully passed postgraduate training in Master of Medicine in obstetrics and gynecology from the Fiji School of Medicine.
Dr. Fuavai and Dr. Ah Ching received their invitations after successfully completing a three-year continuing professional development program.
The four doctors are the first recipients of associate membership awards from the Pacific island nations.
The LBJ Medical Center congratulated the recipients and said that this is great recognition for the professional development of the medical staff at the hospital.
Dr. John Ah Ching received special recognition for not only completing the three year work study program to become an associate member, but also for his continued service to the LBJ’s OBGYN department which he heads.
Dr. Ah Ching is credited for his endless commitment to the professional development of his medical staff, which was proven when three of his staff members where appointed along with him as associate members of the Royal Australia and New Zealand College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. |
