Gov. Togiola honors Sen. Tuana’itau with tribute at State funeral service
(UTULEI: Friday, February 5, 2010) – Governor Togiola Tulafono today paid tribute to Tualauta Senator Tuana’itau Fa’atamala Tuia at State funeral services held at the Fale Samoa of the American Samoa Legislature in Fagatogo.
Joined by First Lady Mary Ann Tulafono, Chief Justice Lealaialoa Michael Kruse, Senate President Gaoteote Palaie Tofau, House Speaker Savali Talavou Ale, lawmakers, Cabinet members, and children of the late senator, Governor Togiola said in honoring a great leader, it is more important to celebrate the memory of his achievements as a lawmaker, in his village of Pava’ia’i as the sa’o, in his church, in the courts as a counselor, where he helped many people he never knew.

UTULEI) – Governor Togiola Tulafono today threw the ceremonial first pass at the official opening of the inaugural American Youth Football Samoa (AYFS) season at Kanana Fou Field in Tafuna.

(UTULEI) – Governor Togiola Tulafono today congratulated Australia and American Samoa for making history by playing in the first ever international American football competition on Samoan soil. Final score: American Samoa 49, Australia 6.
OPENING CEREMONY REMARKS
In the opening ceremony of the second day of Samoa Bowl VII, Governor Togiola welcomed Head Coach Peter Tos, the coaching staff and the national under 19 team of Gridiron Australia and their Junior Outback Touring Squad to Samoa Bowl VII.
Gov. Togiola lauds AS and Hawaii for “most impressive exhibition of Samoan talent” in Samoa Bowl; AS defeats Hawaii, 23-20
(UTULEI) – Governor Togiola Tulafono today called the Samoa Bowl VII game between American Samoa and Hawaii as “the most impressive exhibition of Samoan talent we have ever witnessed in the seven years” of the event, as American Samoa beat Hawaii 23-20.
OPENING CEREMONY
In the opening ceremony, Governor Togiola told the Samoa Bowl participants that the priority of the event continues to be the encouragement of knowledge, learning and brotherhood.
Gov. Togiola hosts Samoa Bowl VII participants; “Building honorable qualities”

(UTULEI) – Governor Togiola Tulafono and First Lady Mary Ann Tulafono tonight hosted a welcome reception for the 175 Samoa Bowl VII players from Hawaii, Australia and American Samoa at Governor H. Rex Lee Auditorium (Fale Laumei) in Utulei.
The official sports dinner to honor the participants and kick-off the festivities of the 7th annual event, which “promote sports, character, education, camaraderie, and your cultural heritage,” included coaches of all four teams, sponsors, community members and the eight-member girls Hawaii Volleyball All Stars as well as the eleven-member girls American Samoa Volleyball All Stars.

(UTULEI) – Governor Togiola Tulafono today attended the December Toa o Samoa church service held at the Congregational Christian Church of American Samoa in Taputimu.
Governor Togiola said the monthly Marist St. Joseph Old Pupils Association-sponsored gathering brings people together to share similar interests and fuels fellowship and love of one another because those who attend are there for the same purpose.
Gov. Togiola tells 162 ASCC graduates “four year college is going to happen”
(UTULEI) – Governor Togiola Tulafono today gave remarks at the 51st commencement exercise of the American Samoa Community College (ASCC) in Mapusaga.
Governor Togiola told the 162 December graduates, the largest graduating class in the history of ASCC, that the completion of their efforts can be compared to the construction of a tough structure.
