VISION:
To continue the efforts of cultivating and enhancing peace and harmony among the people of the Pacific, diversified as they are, through sharing and understanding traditions, cultures and are forms. While each entity is encouraged to foster the preservation of their cultural heritage and the creation of new art forms unique of their particular island nation, it is important to note that the focus of all these efforts is to reinforce the sense of oneness – the Pacificness.
Our charge is to educate our indigenous people to respect, cherish and practice languages, cultures and traditions that our elders have recommended allowing for modifications that our youth have shown a special attraction to.
MISSION STATEMENT:
The Office of the Tenth Festival of Pacific Arts’ mission is to provide perfect performance in achieving the main factors that determines the success of our Festival of Pacific Arts to be hosted in American Samoa in 2008. We are committed to the necessary leadership and organization of efforts and publicizing plans in order to empower our people to achieve these goals. (NOTE: This mission is a guiding document for our Local Office. It is not to be confused with mission for the Festival of Pacific Arts which has already been established by the South Pacific Commission Office.)
GOALS:
- To provide a high leadership to our community in organizing this major Pacific regional event so they may reflect, assess, re-evaluate, improve and present ourselves to our community and others from Pacific communities.
- To provide qualitative level of professionalism in managing our activities, assuring that the stakeholders and people are encouraged by the level of success in the feedback from our people and guests on a day by day basis.
To provide a quality/exceptional level of hospitality to our Pacific Island guests: dignitaries, participants, visitors and tourists, beyond satisfaction, and encourage an open communication between our brothers and sisters of the Pacific.
