A Biographical Sketch of American Samoa’s Forty-second Governor, Eighth Appointed Civil Governor): Owen S. Aspinall (August 1967 - July 1969)

OWEN S. ASPINALL was born in Grand Junction, Colorado, on September 21, 1927.  He received a B.A. in Anthropology from University of Denver in 1949, and an LL.B. from American University in 1955.  Aspinall served with the 82nd Airborne Division, 504th Parachute Infantry Regiment during World War II.  His public offices include: Deputy District Attorney of Mesa County, Colorado, 1957-1961; appointed Attorney General of the Territory of American Samoa, December 1961; Territorial Secretary (Lieutenant Governor) of American Samoa, November 1962.
