Fono passes bill appropriating $1M for school buses; $200K for MV Sili
The House of Representatives has approved the Senate version of an Administration bill that appropriates $1 million to purchase 10 school buses for the Department of Education, and $200,000 to pay for repairs to the government-owned MV Sili.
The bill goes into effect after it is signed by Governor Togiola Tulafono.
Funding for the bill is from the American Samoa Government’s $20-million-dollar loan from the ASG Employees’ Retirement Fund.
The bill amends the language of the loan law by adding the MV Sili and the school bus purchase to the list of projects.
