Territory awarded over $928K from the
USDOE Rehabilitation Services Administration
American Samoa has been awarded $928,801 under the fiscal year 2008 funding cycle from the US Department of Education Rehabilitation Services Administration.
(RSA oversees grant programs that assist individuals with physical or mental disabilities with obtaining employment and living more independently through providing support like counseling, medical and psychological services, job training, and other individualized services.)
The funding represents the annual allotments but do not include any adjustments from funds that may be the result of funds relinquished or disbursed through the reallocation process as required by the Rehabilitation Act.
The local Rehabilitation Office was recently transferred from the Department of Human and Social Services to the Governor’s Office.
