DOE awaits completion of million-dollar facility in Utulei
The former main office of the Department of Education in Utulei has been completely demolished, to make way for a more modern, two-story million-dollar building set to be ready for occupancy by next year.
The old building, located in front of the KVZK-TV station has been leveled, as APEX gets ready to begin construction of the new building that comes with a price tag of $1.2 million and funded under Capital Improvement Projects.
The construction work has resulted in the relocation of several DOE offices to the AP Lutali Executive Office Building, and the former Election Office next to the Social Services compound.
A couple of DOE divisions currently being housed at the Daewoosa Samoa compound in Tafuna will also be relocating elsewhere, as the American Samoa Government wants to make the facility available for any interested lessee(s).
And while offices are being shifted from one location to another, DOE still maintains its same telephone line
