Retired US Army CW-5 Save Liuato Tuitele appointed as associate judge
Governor Togiola Tulafono has appointed Save Liuato Tuitele of Leone as an Associate Judge for the High Court of American Samoa. Save is a retired Chief Warrant Officer in the US Army.
In a memo, Governor Togiola said that the appointment was made with a recommendation from Chief Justice Michael Kruse. Save’s nomination will now have to be submitted to the Senate for confirmation.
Save was educated locally before he departed the territory for the US Army, and to continue his education. He holds two bachelors degrees – one in business administration and another in criminal justice management.
Save and his wife Sara relocated back to the territory in 2004 and since then, Save has helped to develop and design training programs for the Department of Public Safety.
Togiola said he is confident in Save’s abilities to execute his duties and responsibilities in accordance with the Constitution and all applicable laws of the territory.
