Governor signs bill giving each of the territory’s three districts $1 million
The three districts of American Samoa (Eastern, Western, Manu’a) will each receive $1 million for capital improvement projects.
The funds come from the $20-million- dollar-loan bill which was signed into law by Governor Togiola Tulafono on December 19, 2008. The loan is from the American Samoa Government’s Employees’ Retirement Fund.
The Governor explained that the money for the districts will be used to carry out capital improvement projects according to their identified and stated priorities.
